I decided to go on my Venezuelan adventure because I wanted to see Angel falls – it was amazing. It’s also a bit of a mission to get to. The local Indian people have known about Angel falls for ever. The rest of the world found out about them when an American pilot – jimmy Angel – found them while exploring for potential gold mine sites. He landed on the top and then got bogged! Took him 11 days to find a way down. His plane stayed on the top until after he died. You still have to fly to see Angel falls. Here’s the view from the cessna on the way to the town of Canaima.

  Once you get to Canaima you have to take a 4 hr motorised canoe/boat ride. This will bring you to the camp site where you sleep in hammocks – more comfortable than it sounds.

In the morning, you hike for one hour to see this.
