I’ve been on a bit of a whirl-wind tour of Chile as I have to be in Santiago on the 29th Nov to start my last hiking tour. I have to say I prefer the desert to the coastal towns in Chile because the scenery is beautiful and the water is too cold to swim!
I wanted to go on an astronomy tour in San Pedro because I’d heard the stars were pretty cool over the desert. When I went to book they said I wouldn’t see much because of the full moon. Probably correct…….then they suggested going sand boarding at night with the full moon instead. Since I’ve never used a sand/snow board before it didn’t sound like the most sensible suggestion but I did it anyway 😬 It was super fun until I decided to put the go-pro on……..too confident! I wasn’t hurt but I managed to get sand everywhere. I can’t show you the footage either because the go-pro doesn’t pick much up at night 😳 Lesson learnt!

Next up Santiago and the Torres del Paine….
