Lazy Days in Vientiane

So I think I’ve fully immersed myself in the expat life here. I wake up early, not because I have to but because it’s the best time to play with my little nephew.  When the nanny comes my sister and I go out for breakfast – usually a ham and cheese croissant from the French bakery and an espresso (delicious). ☕️

Then I spend the morning potting about, watching my fill of person of interest and criminal minds.  Occasionally, I watch a movie but prefer my TV shows.  Then we go out for lunch – the most difficult decision is where to eat. Do I feel like the 3 course French or Italian lunch, noodle soup or my personal favourite of roll your own cold rolls down the street? The most expensive of these options costs about $12. The cold rolls are about $4.

Nanny Von goes home after lunch and I spend the afternoon entertaining x-man or watching another tv episode if he decides to sleep. We cruise down to the Mekong (one block away) in the late afternoon. Watch the night markets being set-up and walk to the giant statue or laugh at the exercisers wearing puffy space suits to sweat more.  Sometimes I have cold beer or cocktail before dinner.  Tough life but someone has to live it 😀

On the weekend I pack up my things and head to Myanmar for my next adventure. Hopefully I nail the border crossing this time.
