Burma

I’ve been to Yangon, previously known as Rangoon and interestingly is not the capital of Myanmar anymore. The government/military decided to move the capital in 2006 to the middle of the country – go figure.

I went to a political comedy by the moustache brothers, they say Burma instead of Myanmar because the people were not consulted about the name change. I also read that Aung San Suu Kyi (the lady) also continues to say Burma.

Tourism is definitely developing here, big hotels and resorts are being built and souvenir shops are creeping into the main streets. It’s lovely here and I would like to come back. I suspect that when I do, it will be a lot busier than I remember.

Off to Budapest tomorrow, no more fried noodles.

    1. Actually, it’s the hill tribes traditional wedding dress. The old lady – I called her my maid of honour, just wanted me to wear it 😀

you are actually taller than your maid of honour.
