Friday night – Madrid
My backpack and I landed in the middle of Plaza del Sol at 10pm on Friday night. The place was so exciting with street performers, large crowds and ice-cream. I dumped my backpack at the hostel (so I didn’t look like such a tourist) and a little place to have sangria, tapas and watch the madness. It was brilliant! I managed to squeeze in the royal palace and cathedral before leaving Cuba.
I saw a stranger being kind to an old man who was upset in the train in Madrid. A random act of kindness, beautiful x
Saturday night – Havana
La Habana, I came and left in the dark. I met some English guy and we managed to navigate through the Cuban airport – no problemo. No idea what his name was by was nice to have a fellow non-Spanish speaker around. Our taxi driver David, had a cool gangster swagger – a bit like jay-z ( well that’s what the English guy thought anyway)
Sunday night- Quito
I’m in Quito now, staying with some nice grandma. I understand about 1% of what she says at the moment – makes for great dinner conversation. Mum I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know she made me eat all my fruit this morning – mucho vitamina she says 😊
Off to my first day of Spanish school now, I hope the other kids play nice!
